The Programmable Climate Chamber requires specific ambient conditions for safe and reliable operation. When the set temperature is 10°C or below, ambient temperature must not exceed 26°C, and humidity setpoints should not exceed 80% when the temperature setpoint is above 40°C.
- Ambient temperature limit at low setpoints: Ambient temperature must not exceed 26°C when the chamber set temperature is 10°C or below.
- Humidity setpoint limit at high temperatures: When the chamber setpoint is above 40°C, the humidity setpoint should generally not exceed 80%.
- Stable room temperature requirement: Maintain a stable room temperature to ensure consistent chamber performance and avoid heat sources.
- Upright positioning during transport: Keep the unit upright during unloading and positioning to prevent damage to the refrigeration system.
- Power supply specification: Connect the chamber to a grounded AC220V 50Hz power supply as specified in the technical specifications.
Position the chamber away from direct heat sources on a stable, level surface. Confirm the selected accessory package before installation and keep the unit upright during unloading.
Required Equipment: Programmable Climate Chamber, 247 L
- Position the chamber
Place the chamber away from direct heat sources on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation. - Maintain stable room temperature
Ensure the room temperature is stable, especially when the set temperature is 10°C or below, to avoid exceeding 26°C ambient. - Confirm accessory package
Verify and confirm the selected accessory package, such as RS485 interface or CO2 inlet, before installation. - Unload and position the unit
Keep the chamber upright during unloading and positioning to prevent damage to internal components. - Set environmental parameters
Use the LCD controller to set the desired temperature, humidity, and light intensity within the specified ranges. - Verify humidity limits
Confirm that the humidity setpoint does not exceed 80% when the temperature setpoint is above 40°C.
Why does the programmable climate chamber have different temperature ranges in no-light versus illuminated mode?
The specified temperature range depends on illumination mode: no-light mode supports 5 to 60 C, while illuminated mode supports 10 to 60 C. If your protocol requires temperatures below 10 C, run the chamber without illumination; for illuminated plant-growth or photoperiod experiments, plan for a minimum of 10 C. Humidity control is specified at 50%RH to 90%RH with ±8%RH deviation.
Can the AF-QHX250T climate chamber be integrated with external data logging, CO2 control, or alarm systems?
Yes. Optional accessories include an RS485/232 interface and communication software, embedded printer, USB data storage, wireless alarm system, CO2 inlet, CO2 controller, and light-intensity detection and control system. These options extend the chamber for advanced test methods without changing the base programmable temperature, light, humidity, and time control.
What installation and ambient conditions are required for reliable low-temperature operation of this chamber?
When the set temperature is 10 C or below, ambient temperature should not exceed 26 C; when the setpoint is above 40 C, humidity setpoints should generally not exceed 80%. Performance specifications are based on no-load testing at 20 C and 50%RH ambient humidity. The chamber requires an AC220V 50Hz supply with 800 W input; keep it away from direct heat sources, maintain stable room temperature, and keep the unit upright during unloading and positioning.
The Programmable Climate Chamber (247 L) offers programmable control of temperature, humidity, and light with a top-lighting configuration and stainless-steel interior, making it suitable for plant growth, tissue culture, and biological experiments. However, its operational range is limited by ambient temperature restrictions when set below 10°C and by reduced humidity capability above 40°C.
Positive
- Programmable multi-parameter control: The LCD microcomputer controller enables programmable temperature, humidity, light, and time settings, supporting simulated natural-climate workflows for cultivation and biological assays.
- Top lighting for plant growth: The top-mounted, six-level LED illumination (0–10000 lux) provides uniform, shadow-free light exposure for germination and photoperiod experiments without obstructing internal shelf space.
Trade-offs
- Ambient temperature constraint at low setpoints: When the set temperature is 10°C or below, the ambient room temperature must not exceed 26°C, limiting placement in unconditioned or warm laboratory environments.
- Reduced humidity at high temperature setpoints: At temperature setpoints above 40°C, the humidity setpoint should generally not exceed 80% RH, restricting combined high-temperature and high-humidity testing protocols.
