Store cells in moisture-barrier packaging with anti-static dividers to prevent humidity-related degradation and electrostatic damage. Maintain operating voltage between 2.5 V and 3.65 V and avoid sustained exposure to temperatures above 60 °C or below -20 °C to preserve cycle life and safety.
- Voltage Window Constraint: Cells must be operated within the voltage window of 2.5 V to 3.65 V to prevent over-discharge or over-charge damage.
- Temperature Limits: Sustained operation above 60 °C or below -20 °C is prohibited to avoid accelerated aging or capacity loss.
- Battery Management System Requirement: A dedicated LFP BMS with cell balancing is mandatory for all pack configurations to ensure voltage and thermal monitoring.
- Terminal Torque Specification: M6 threaded terminals must be torqued to 8–10 N·m and treated with anti-oxidation paste on aluminum interfaces to prevent galvanic corrosion.
- Variant Mixing Restriction: Different AF46145LFP variants must not be mixed within a parallel group due to differences in internal resistance and capacity.
Use a dedicated LFP battery management system and calibrated torque wrench to assemble and commission the pack. Follow voltage, torque, and temperature limits to ensure safe operation and long cycle life.
Required Equipment: LFP Battery Management System, Torque wrench (8–10 N·m), Anti-oxidation paste, Multimeter
- Inspect Cells
Inspect each cell for physical damage and measure the open-circuit voltage with a multimeter to confirm it is between 2.5 V and 3.65 V. - Configure BMS
Program the battery management system with a 2.5 V undervoltage cutoff and 3.65 V overvoltage cutoff, and enable cell balancing. - Apply Terminal Treatment
Apply anti-oxidation paste to the aluminum terminal faces to prevent galvanic corrosion before attaching busbars. - Torque Busbar Connections
Tighten the M6 terminal bolts to a torque of 8–10 N·m using a calibrated torque wrench to ensure low-resistance connections. - Verify BMS Integration
Connect the BMS sense leads and confirm that the pack voltage is balanced within the BMS's target tolerance. - Perform Initial Charge
Charge the pack using a LFP-compatible charger at the rated C-rate for the specific variant while monitoring cell temperatures. - Monitor First Cycle
Monitor cell temperatures during the initial cycles and confirm they remain below 60 °C, with the BMS actively limiting if exceeded.
What are the differences between the three AF46145LFP models?
The AF46145LFP01 is optimized for high power (5C charge / 20C discharge, 25Ah) — suitable for rapid acceleration and regenerative braking. The AF46145LFP02 offers balanced performance (3C/10C, 28Ah) for general EV and storage. The AF46145LFP03 prioritizes energy density (2C/3C, 33.3Ah) for extended runtime in stationary storage.
Can I parallel different AF46145LFP variants in a single pack?
Mixing variants is not recommended due to different internal resistance and capacity profiles. For multi-string applications, use identical models per parallel group. Contact our engineering team for custom pack design support.
What safety certifications are available for this series?
All cells comply with UN38.3, UL 1642 (USA), IEC 62133-2:2021 (international), and CE. Batch-level test reports for nail penetration, overcharge, and thermal propagation are available upon request.
The 46145 LFP series provides a versatile cylindrical-cell platform with three capacity variants (25Ah, 28Ah, 33.3Ah) optimized for high-power, balanced, or high-energy applications. Intrinsic thermal stability and >3000 cycle life at 70% SOH are strong advantages, but the cells require strict voltage (2.5–3.65V) and temperature control (<60°C, >-20°C), and different variants must not be mixed in parallel packs.
Positive
- Intrinsically safe LFP chemistry: LFP cathode provides zero risk of thermal runaway and exceptional tolerance to overcharge and over-discharge, making the cells suitable for high-reliability systems.
- Three application-optimized variants: The series offers high-power (5C/20C, 25Ah), balanced (3C/10C, 28Ah), and high-energy (2C/3C, 33.3Ah) options, enabling precise matching to EV, storage, or UPS performance requirements.
Trade-offs
- Requires strict voltage and temperature management: To maximize cycle life, cells must be operated within 2.5–3.65V and avoid sustained temperatures above 60°C or below -20°C; a dedicated LFP BMS with cell balancing is mandatory.
- Mixing variants in parallel is not recommended: Different internal resistance and capacity profiles across the AF46145LFP01/02/03 models preclude parallel mixing; identical models must be used within each parallel group for reliable pack operation.
