VI. Rapid Test Method

(I) Related tests for gold mines

  1. Relative method (rapid test of gold in raw ore): Take 20 – 200 grams of sample, stir and leach with leaching solution for 2 hours, then take the clear solution for direct detection to get the gold content
  2. Rapid determination of gold content in cyanidation leaching solution: Take the pregnant solution and tail solution leached by sodium cyanide, filter and detect directly, the lower limit of determination can be less than 0.02 g/ton
  3. Rapid determination of gold in gold-loaded carbon: Take representative carbon sample and grind it to less than 40 mesh, weigh 0.2 – 1.0g and put it into a 50mL porcelain crucible, ash it in an electric furnace or high temperature furnace, dissolve it with aqua regia and make up the volume to 100mL, then detect it directly

(II) Related tests for non-ferrous metal mines (Copper, Lead, Zinc, Cobalt, Nickel, Silver)

Take 0.2 gram of sample into a 50mL beaker, add 10mL aqua regia, melt on an electric hot plate for 30 minutes, transfer to a 100mL volumetric flask to make up the volume, and detect directly after the solution is clarified.

(III) Mercury element test in smelting and electroplating industries

  1. Solid sample determination: Take 0.2 – 1.0g sample into a 100mL beaker, add 10mL nitric acid, heat and dissolve on an electric hot plate for 20 – 30 minutes, transfer to a 100mL volumetric flask to make up the volume, and detect directly after clarification
  2. Liquid sample determination: Filter the sample and take the supernatant for direct detection

This document outlines the essential operational constraints for the Atomfair-GFA892 gold analyzer. The instrument requires a dedicated supply of liquefied petroleum gas as the combustible fuel for the flame.

  • Flammable Gas Requirement: The analyzer must be connected to a source of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to generate the analytical flame.

How does the Atomfair-GFA892's sensitivity compare to atomic absorption spectrometry for gold analysis?

The Atomfair-GFA892 provides a detection limit for gold of <0.2 ng/mL, which is 2 to 3 orders of magnitude more sensitive than the atomic absorption flame method. This enables accurate quantification of low-content gold in raw ore, cyanidation leaching solutions, and gold-loaded carbon without preconcentration.

What is the lower detection limit for gold in cyanidation leaching solutions when using the Atomfair-GFA892?

The lower limit for gold determination in cyanidation leaching solutions is <0.02 g/ton. The rapid test method requires only filtration of pregnant solution or tail solution followed by direct detection, enabling fast and reliable process monitoring.

What sample preparation is required for gold determination in gold-loaded carbon using the Atomfair-GFA892?

Representative carbon must be ground to less than 40 mesh, then 0.2–1.0g is ashed in an electric furnace or high temperature furnace, dissolved in aqua regia, and diluted to 100mL. The clarified solution is directly analyzed, and the entire procedure is part of the instrument's standard rapid test method.

The Atomfair-GFA892 flame atomic fluorescence gold analyzer delivers PPb-level detection limits for gold and other metals via flame atomic fluorescence, with a repeatability of <0.7% RSD and a single-sample test time of about 5 seconds. Its stainless steel jacketed glass nebulizer and double-layer multi-head quartz atomizer support corrosion resistance and high atomization efficiency, while the use of LPG as fuel reduces operational costs. The instrument includes a standard calibration curve function, flexible data editing, and supports multiple output formats, making it suitable for gold mining, metallurgy, and geological prospecting applications.

Positive

  • PPb-level detection sensitivity: Detection limits reach <0.2 ng/mL for gold and <0.01 ng/mL for silver, enabling trace-level quantification in raw ore, pregnant solution, and other matrices.
  • High repeatability and fast analysis: RSD is <0.7% and a single sample test takes about 5 seconds, supporting reliable, high-throughput laboratory workflows.

Trade-offs

  • Requires combustible gas infrastructure: Operation depends on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as fuel, requiring gas supply and safety infrastructure in the laboratory.
  • Sample preparation is matrix-dependent: Accurate results require specific digestion and dissolution procedures (e.g., aqua regia, nitric acid) for solid samples, adding time and chemical handling steps.
