Product Overview

The ATOMFAIR® Double-Layer Spherical Corrosion Test Cell is constructed from high-borosilicate glass and designed as a semi-sealed system for three-electrode corrosion testing applications. The cell features an adjustable-angle salt bridge (Luggin capillary) that allows precise positioning of the reference electrode directly toward the corrosion sample, effectively reducing uncompensated resistance (iR drop). The salt bridge is filled with saturated potassium nitrate solution to avoid chloride ion interference. The working electrode is equipped with a sample holder that accommodates 15mm diameter samples with a fixed surface area of 1cm², allowing convenient sample replacement. The cell is supplied complete with cell body, F-type gas inlet tube, salt bridge, liquid seal, PTFE components, sample holder, reference electrode, and graphite rod counter electrode. The double-layer version incorporates a thermostatic water bath jacket for precise temperature control. The cell supports gas purging both above and below the liquid surface via the F-type inlet – during measurements, only overhead purging should be maintained. Standard volumes are 500mL and 1000mL, with custom capacities available upon request. This cell is suitable for corrosion testing in most corrosive environments (except HF) at both room and elevated temperatures.
