Product Overview

The ATOMFAIR® Single-Layer Relative Sealing 3H Replaceable-Membrane Electrolytic Cell is constructed from high-borosilicate glass and designed as a semi-sealed, three-compartment system for three-electrode applications. The reference electrode is separated from the working electrode and connected via a Luggin capillary with an aperture of less than 0.2mm at the tip, effectively reducing uncompensated resistance (iR drop). The Luggin capillary can be filled with a gel to reduce electrolyte flow rate. The reference electrode chamber features internal threaded sealing – proper sealing is essential to prevent electrolyte leakage due to the siphon effect. The cathode and anode chambers are isolated by an ion-exchange membrane with chain-sealed connections for easy membrane replacement. The cell features a 360° rotatable PTFE inner core for precise electrode alignment (typically parallel to the membrane). A sub-surface sparger is included for gas purging, with different sparger shapes available for different experimental requirements. The single-layer body features an elevated floor design that effectively eliminates solution hiding effects. Extended-length electrodes are required and must be ordered separately. A sampling port is available as an optional add-on.
