Description
Soil Grinding and Screening Machine
Product Introduction
This machine is designed for heavy metal analysis in soil, equipped with 4 agate grinding jars. The sealing pressure of the agate grinding jars is adjustable via a graduated scale. The grinding jars rotate reversely around their own axes while revolving around the turntable axis. Samples inside the jars collide and rub against each other at high speed, achieving sample crushing, grinding, mixing and dispersion. It supports dry grinding, wet grinding and vacuum grinding. Two or four grinding jars can work simultaneously at a time.

Working Principle
This machine is used for heavy metal analysis in soil, equipped with 4 agate grinding jars. The sealing pressure of the agate grinding jars is set by a graduated scale. The jars revolve around the turntable axis and rotate reversely around their own axes at the same time. Samples in the jars collide and rub against each other during high-speed movement, so as to crush, grind, mix and disperse samples. It can be used for dry grinding, wet grinding and vacuum grinding. Two or four grinding jars can operate at the same time.

We also provide grinding jars of various materials: agate, alumina corundum ceramic, zirconia ceramic, silicon nitride ceramic, silicon carbide ceramic, stainless steel, wear-resistant steel, manganese steel, nylon, polyurethane, hard alloy, crystal glass, etc.
The XQM-200 planetary ball mill requires a stable electrical supply of 220V AC with proper grounding to prevent electrical hazards. The agate grinding jars must be sealed correctly using the graduated scale to prevent sample leakage and cross-contamination during operation.
- Electrical Safety: Connect the mill only to a 220V AC outlet with proper grounding and verify the power cord is undamaged before each use.
- Jar Sealing Integrity: Adjust the sealing pressure of each agate grinding jar using the graduated scale to ensure a leak-tight seal for the selected grinding mode.
- Vacuum Mode Requirements: When operating in vacuum grinding mode, verify that all seals are intact and the vacuum system is properly connected to avoid contamination.
- Material Compatibility: Ensure that the sample material and any grinding media are compatible with agate to prevent chemical attack or excessive wear.
- Mechanical Balance: Load grinding jars symmetrically in pairs of two or four to maintain dynamic balance during rotation and prevent excessive vibration.
This procedure describes how to safely prepare and operate the XQM-200 planetary ball mill for soil heavy metal analysis. All steps must be followed in sequence to ensure proper containment and avoid mechanical or electrical hazards.
Required Equipment: XQM-200 planetary ball mill, Agate grinding jars (4 units)

How does the XQM-200's 200L capacity and 0-215 r/min jar speed affect its ability to grind soil samples to sub-micron sizes?
The XQM-200 achieves discharge particle sizes as fine as 0.1 μm, as specified, despite its large 200L capacity and lower jar rotation speed of 0-215 r/min. The high-torque 22KW motor and planetary action compensate for the reduced speed, enabling efficient grinding of soil samples with feed sizes up to 10 mm. The trade-off is longer grinding times compared to smaller, higher-speed models, but the design is optimized for bulk throughput.
What grinding jar materials are compatible with the XQM-200 for soil heavy metal analysis to avoid elemental contamination?
For soil heavy metal analysis, the XQM-200 is equipped with standard agate (silica) jars to minimize metal contamination. If analyte elements include silicon or the sample requires absolute inertness, alternative jar materials like zirconia, alumina, or stainless steel are available from the supplier. The machine supports a wide range of jar materials including agate, ceramic, and carbide to match specific analytical requirements.
What are the specific facility requirements for operating the XQM-200 planetary ball mill?
The XQM-200 requires a 220V AC power supply capable of supporting its 22KW three-phase motor and a floor rated for its 2725 kg net weight. Its dimensions of 2670×1600×2804 mm demand substantial floor space, and ventilation is necessary for continuous operation up to 48 hours. The included electric screener requires additional bench space and a compatible 220V outlet.
The XQM-200 planetary ball mill provides a 200L super-large capacity with four agate grinding jars, enabling soil sample reduction to 0.1 μm for heavy metal analysis. Its 48-hour continuous operation and multi-mode grinding (dry, wet, vacuum) support high-throughput sample preparation, but the 2725 kg net weight and 2670×1600×2804 mm footprint demand dedicated lab space, and the feed size limit of ≤10 mm for soil necessitates pre-crushing for larger particles.
Positive
- Ultra-fine discharge particle size: Discharge particle size can be as fine as 0.1 μm, enabling thorough sample homogenization for sensitive heavy metal analysis in soil.
- Flexible grinding modes: Supports dry, wet, and vacuum grinding, allowing adaptation to various sample types and analytical requirements without equipment changeover.
Trade-offs
- Large physical footprint and mass: Overall dimensions of 2670×1600×2804 mm and net weight of 2725 kg require substantial lab floor space and may necessitate floor reinforcement for installation.
- Restrictive feed particle size limits: Feed particle size must be ≤10 mm for soil and ≤3 mm for other materials, often requiring separate pre-crushing or screening steps prior to milling.
