NEPEM Composite lon Exchange Membrane for Electrolysis or Electroplating
NEPEM Composite Proton Exchange Membrane (Composite PEM) is fabricated via a proprietary tape-casting process, using perfluorosulfonic acid (PFSA) resin with optimized molecular weight and ion exchange capacity (IEC). Featuring uniform thickness, this membrane is widely applied in electrolytic and electrochemical industries, including electrolytic chlorine dioxide (ClO₂) generators, etching solution copper recovery systems, gold salt (e.g., chloroaurate) preparation, amino acid purification, caustic soda (sodium hydroxide, NaOH) production, and electrodialysis (ED) processes.
Description
The NEPEM Composite Ion Exchange Membrane, crafted via a proprietary tape-casting process, leverages perfluorosulfonic acid (PFSA) resin with optimized molecular weight and ion exchange capacity (IEC). Its uniform-thickness structure ensures reliability across electrolysis and electroplating applications, from ClO₂ generators and etching solution copper recovery to gold salt synthesis, amino acid purification, caustic soda production, and electrodialysis. Engineered for chemical stability and consistent ion transport, it delivers durable performance in industrial electrolytic/electroplating systems.

Measurement Notes
- Measurements were taken with the membrane conditioned at 23 °C and 50% relative humidity (RH) for 24 hours.
- Conductivity measurements were conducted at 23 °C and 100% relative humidity (RH).
- A base titration procedure is used to determine the equivalents of sulfonic acid groups in the polymer, which is then applied to calculate the acid capacity or equivalent weight of the pure polymer.
- Water content of the membrane (dry weight basis) was determined with the membrane conditioned at 23 °C and 50% relative humidity (RH).
- Water uptake of the membrane (dry weight basis) was measured by conditioning the membrane in water at 100 °C for 1 hour.
- Tensile Test (conducted at 23 °C and 50% relative humidity (RH)).
