Description
Acequinocyl (CAS No. 57960-19-7) is a highly effective miticide and acaricide with the molecular formula C24H32O4. This professional-grade compound is widely utilized in agricultural and horticultural applications for the control of spider mites and other acarine pests. Its unique chemical structure, (3-dodecyl-1,4-dioxonaphthalen-2-yl) acetate, disrupts mitochondrial electron transport in pests, leading to rapid knockdown and long-lasting residual activity. Acequinocyl is formulated for compatibility with integrated pest management (IPM) programs, offering low toxicity to non-target organisms and minimal environmental impact. Available in analytical standard grades (e.g., PESTANAL®) and ready-to-use solutions (1000μg/mL in acetonitrile), it is ideal for research, residue analysis, and field applications. Regulatory approvals include EPA Pesticide Code 006329 and EU EINECS 611-595-7.

Acequinocyl is primarily used as a selective miticide for controlling Tetranychus urticae (two-spotted spider mite) and Panonychus ulmi (European red mite) in crops such as fruits, vegetables, and ornamentals. Its mode of action involves inhibition of complex III in the mitochondrial electron transport chain, making it effective against resistant mite populations. Applied as a foliar spray, it provides both contact and translaminar activity with minimal phytotoxicity. Suitable for use in greenhouses and open fields, it is compatible with most pesticides except strongly alkaline formulations. Re-entry intervals (REI) and pre-harvest intervals (PHI) vary by crop and region.
